2017 PM360 ELITE awards recognize Transformational Leaders

SAN DIEGO, CALIF., April 26, 2017 - PM360 magazine names Didi Discar, principal of Carling Communications and Jennifer Redmond, SVP, medical strategy of MCME, as two of its 2017 Transformational Leaders. The ELITE Awards are given to those individuals who exemplify Exceptional Leaders, Innovators, Transformers, and Entrepreneurs. In evaluating the nominations, the judges looked for people who are doing extraordinary things to help improve the lives of other people. People who “stand for greater patient empathy, improved outcomes, better communication, easier medication delivery, breakthrough science, organizational-wide improvements, and so much more.”

Didi Discar was recognized for her leadership and commitment in building, in just six years, the largest privately held pharmaceutical advertising agency in Southern California. Over the past three years, the agency has doubled in size and now employs close to 80 people. And in August 2016, Inc. named the agency to its 35th annual Inc. 5000, the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. In 2016, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) awarded Didi with its highest national honor, the national Woman Business Owner of the Year, for her creative initiatives to overcome obstacles, create jobs, grow a successful business, and inspire community involvement.

The same commitment can be said of Carling’s sister company, MCME, who has an exceptional leader paving the way. Jennifer Redmond, SVP, medical strategy was recognized as the force behind the inaugural Retina World Congress (RWC) held in February 2017. Retina was the only sub-specialty in ophthalmology without its own world congress. Redmond and the MCME team changed that. Impressively, the original target of gathering 30 to 40 faculty and 300 attendees for the two-day event resulted in 170 faculty members and over 1,000 attendees. The success of the Congress was also attributed to the creative combination of technology, which included a user-friendly mobile app.

We are fortunate to have Didi and Jennifer as two determined transformational leaders paving the way to new opportunities. No doubt, “It Can Be Done.”
